The Free Survey
What You Actually Get
“Free survey” is easy to say. Here’s exactly what turns up and what you walk away with.
- A proper roof assessmentPitch, orientation, shading and available area, measured on site — not estimated from an aerial photo.
- Your actual usage reviewedWe look at your bills and how your household uses power, because that’s what decides whether a battery is worth it.
- A written, costed proposalThe system we’d specify, what it costs, and realistic generation and savings figures. In writing, so you can compare it.
- An honest answerIf your roof isn’t suited to solar, we’ll tell you on the day rather than sell you something that won’t pay back.

The Questions Everyone Asks
Is my roof even suitable?
That’s exactly what the survey answers. South-facing is ideal, but east–west roofs work well too and often suit households using power through the day. Heavy shading is the main limiter — and we’d rather tell you that for free than sell around it.
Am I going to get a hard sell?
No. One call to arrange a time, an engineer on site, then a written proposal. Nobody turns up unannounced and there’s no pressure to decide on the day.
Do I need planning permission?
For most UK homes, roof-mounted solar falls under permitted development. Listed buildings and conservation areas are the usual exceptions, and we’ll flag it at survey if it applies to you.
How long does installation take?
Typically a single day for a standard domestic install. We handle the fitting and the paperwork, including your MCS certification.
What’s it going to cost?
Systems start at £4,995. Your actual figure depends on roof size and whether you want battery storage, which is why we quote after seeing it rather than before. Finance options are available.
Do I have to have a battery?
Not at all. Batteries pay back best if you’re out during the day and using power in the evening. If that’s not you, we’ll say so — and you can always add one later.
Worth Knowing Before You Spend a Penny
The survey costs nothing and you’re under no obligation afterwards.
Worst case, you find out solar isn’t right for your roof — and we’ll tell you that.
